Technical Sales Engineer I supports the Power Generation business line by providing Techno-commercial expertise and sales support to clients, ensuring the delivery of customized solutions that meet customer requirements. The role involves assisting in the development of sales strategies, preparing technical proposals, commercial framework, budgeting, pre-sales costing and building , strong customer relationships to drive business growth.
Key Accountabilities
Assist customers in identifying their power generation needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education to clients.
Support the preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
Participate in sales meetings, presentations, and negotiations with clients.
Work closely with the sales team to achieve business targets and revenue growth.
Assist in preparing quotations, tenders, and contracts.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
Respond promptly to customer inquiries and provide after-sales support as required.
Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and new technologies in power generation.
Gather and analyze market intelligence to support business development activities.
Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and project status.
Prepare regular reports for management on sales performance and market feedback.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Sales or technical certifications related to power generation (e.g., manufacturer training, technical sales courses) are a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of proven success in technical sales across:
- Internal combustion engines
- Marine propulsion systems
- Power generation equipment
- MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) operations
Understands the fundamentals of power generation systems with the different service applications.
Ability to assess customer needs and recommend suitable products.
Clearly explains technical details to clients and team members.
Assists with technical proposals, quotations, and customer support.
Analyzes issues and develops practical solutions.
Manages multiple sales tasks and meets deadlines.
Uses engineering software, MS Office, and CRM systems.
Maintains accurate technical and sales records.
Deep understanding of power system integrations systems.
Solid knowledge about onsite works and implementation.
Good knowledge about market pricing and projects budgeting.
Commercial operations understanding.
