About the job

To be based at site, working on an ON-OFF Cycle, to carry out Mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance work for all mechanical equipment at the site comprising- PV Power generation & distribution, RO desalination plant, Bio-Diesel Generators including at times working in conjunction with Electrical or C&I or Operations Team to achieve reliable, continuous and safe operation & maintenance of such equipment and Plant.

This is a dual role primarily for maintenance but will also involve some parts of Operation support.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

5 year Diploma / HND /or equivalent in mechanical engineering.

Minimum Experience:

5 years’ experience of working with mechanical maintenance in similar industrial setup preferably a power & desalination plant or large size utility or petrochemical plant. Knowledge in Pumps, valves, pipes, fans, heat exchangers, bio-fuel fired engines, Turbo chargers, Fire pumps, Jockey pumps, HVAC, RO Plant equipment would be very desirable.

Job Specific Skills:

· Good knowledge and hands on experience with Pump (including High pressure) servicing & maintenance.

· Good Experience in Valve servicing and maintenance.

· Good Knowledge and hands on experience with welding including Super Duplex and heat treatment.

· Good knowledge in reading drawings, assemblies, sectional views and troubleshooting.

· Hands on experience with maintenance of Generator auxiliaries and main engine.

· Good knowledge in alignments and vibration analysis and mitigation.

· Good knowledge about safety standards while working with pressurized and high temperature systems.

· Good knowledge about fuel and cooling water systems.

· Good knowledge of air-conditioning and ventilation systems.

· Good knowledge and working experience with Heat exchangers.

· Good knowledge in dozing pumps and systems.

· Good knowledge in RO equipment maintenance.

· Carryout prompt troubleshooting of Mechanical equipment breakdowns and take action to repair or mitigate the issue in a safe, prompt and efficient manner.

· Carryout planned and reactive maintenance of plant mechanical equipment and follow relevant Maintenance procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent safe manner.

· Diagnose faults and repair of mechanical machines and systems.

· Maintain accurate and specific records of inspection and maintenance and inventories.

· Ensure continuous running of plant equipment with minimum breakdowns level.

· Responsible to maintain confidentiality of all information available to the position.

Planning and Organizing:

· Independently plan and manage work in an efficient and timely manner with minimum supervision.

· Produce quality workmanship under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Technical knowledge:

· Familiar with working principles of installed Mechanical equipment and the latest technology related to the mechanical field, including proficiency in fault finding using available test instruments.

· Knowledge in basic vibration monitoring, alignments of pumps/motors, welding procedures, disassembly and reassembly of equipment used in RO desalination plant, DM Plant, Fuel forwarding and recirculation system, Heat exchangers, pumps, valves, piping, fans, etc.
