Function

This role will work under the supervision of “Electrical Engineer” and provide assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered to be familiar with the inspection, diagnosis, evaluation, and repair & maintenance of various heavy equipment machinery.

Job Scope

To ensure that all terminal requirements in respect of the electrical aspects of terminal equipment (RTG, Spreader, Reach Stacker, Empty Handler, etc.) are met and to maintain the highest standards of work quality and throughput consistent with the availability of resources, also to identify problem areas and advise his superiors accordingly. Additionally, and as required to repair and maintain all the equipment within the terminal.

Duties

Maintenance execution & failure rectification:

1. Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate the performance of developmental parts, assemblies or systems under simulated operating conditions and record results.

2. Understanding, installation, testing, commissioning, and repairing of control panel the wiring & circuit diagrams, its components, behaviour, and effects related to the engine performance.

3. Assemble electrical and electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments.

4. Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during and after construction.

5. Build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, or repair electrical instruments or testing equipment.

6. Review existing electrical circuits to identify necessary modifications, corrections and replace outdated material.

(Rewire electrical systems, and repair or replace electrical components and accessories.)

7. Plan method or sequence of operations for developing or testing experimental electronic or electrical equipment.

8. Repair and rebuild defective mechanical parts in electric motors, generators, and related equipment using hand tools and power tools.

9. Inspect electrical connections, wiring, relays, charging resistance boxes and storage batteries following wiring diagrams and do the wires connections to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components.

Health & Safety Awareness and Coordination:

1. Ensure proper usage and effective housekeeping of the workshop, spare parts, materials, tools, facilities, and equipment including PPEs.

2. Comply strictly with environmental, safety & health standards and practices in line with the company’s policies, rules, regulations, and work procedures at all times.

3. Execute & help to upgrade the risk assessment’s control measures and ensure all are applied and effective on-site all the time.

4. Execute and ensure engineering activities with compliance, and reports of third-party testing certificates for all equipment and lifting gears and follow up on the renewal progress.

5. Follow HSSE issues and required work permits for daily maintenance and repair works, daily communication with the team to maintain a safe workplace before, during and after work.

6. Maintain tidiness and cleanliness of workshop facilities and all equipment thereby creating a safe and healthy work environment.

7. Execute & monitor the site work, stop unsafe acts immediately and update the management if any additional control measures are required.

8. Ensure that method statements, and SOP of all the repair and maintenance activities are understood, implemented, and updated, as necessary.

General:

1. Collaborate with electrical engineers or other personnel to identify, define, or solve developmental problems.

2. Read and understand the OEM recommendations/service guides to find information needed to perform repairs.

3. On-call duty upon any emergency at the Terminal. (Perform shift duty to cope up with the business requirement.)

4. Any other ad hoc works assigned by the Supervisor on time.

5. Propose a cost-effective solution for maintenance & repair works, modifications for equipment and facilities to keep them productive, and durable and protect them from damage etc.

6. Follow and assist in filling up information into the work order sheet in an accurate manner.

7. Driving/operating a forklift, equipment, man lift, or vehicle whenever necessary for work related to maintenance activity.

8. Support the reporting manager with official assignments from time to time.

9. Ensure compliance with ISO 45001 Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures.

Requirements

- Minimum diploma in Electrical/Electronic/Power/Telecom engineering.

- Minimum of 5 years of working experience in a similar role.

- Skilled in LV Room, panels & switchgear, Motors, Drives, PLC, Hydraulics, and communication systems.

- The ability to work with CMMS, should have basic computer skills.

- Should be able to work in Harsh working conditions.

- Should be able to work at height.

- Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English Language, Multilingual: multiple language skills are preferable.

- Electrical Safety.

- Skilled in Maintenance and Troubleshooting.

- PLC and Control systems.

- Networking.

- Workplace Safety Certification.

- Basic PC skills.
