About HAKA
Position Summary
The IT Data Storage Specialist will be responsible for day-to day operations of data storage infrastructure which include monitoring the data storage infrastructure on the regular basis, responding to alerts and working on resolving the issues, performing hardware installation work, and participating in administration of Linux systems which are part of data storage platforms.
Scope of Work
•Cover day-to-day management of storage hardware and related infrastructure hardware and software components.
•Assist with the installation and de-installation of storage and backup hardware.
•Participate in Linux storage systems administration which include operating system and software installation, configuration changes, patching and firmware upgrades.
•Replace CRU (Customer Replacement Unit) hardware parts.
•Add and modify Active directory group membership to control users access to storage systems.
•Monitor storage systems, analyze the logs, identify and respond to the anomalies and alerts.
•Maintain current inventory of all the storage equipment and component.
•Install, configure and update OwnCloud software and LAMP packages.
•Be part of on-call roaster in order to respond to incidents outside of normal working hours. If required work outside of normal working hours on planned activities that need to be carried out of business hours.
•Manage internal tickets and escalation to vendors.
•Follow KAUST standards and processes.

Technical skills :
•Knowledge of various storage technologies such PureStorage, EMC/Dell, and NetApp platforms.
•Knowledge of SAN and FC switches.
•Hands-on experience with maintaining storage and server hardware.
•Knowledge of operating systems such as Linux, Windows, and MacOS.
•Knowledge of Linux scripting and developing automated tools for monitoring.
•Familiar with virtualization technology (VMWare, KVM).
•Overall awareness of storage technologies and their applications.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related disciplines
Experience
•Minimum 7+ years of IT experience with at least 5 years of specific experience in administering data storage systems in multi- platform environment.
•Experience with Linux administration and LAMP stack installations and configurations.
