Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in Asset Management, Maintenance & Reliability, and Lifecycle Management to support the planning, operation, and optimization of transmission assets. You will play a critical role in enhancing the performance, longevity, and efficiency of the transmission network in alignment with international standards and national energy strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of Asset Management Plans fortransmission infrastructure (substations, overhead lines,underground cables, etc.).

• Recommend refurbishment, replacement, or maintenance strategies based on the asset condition assessments and health index calculations.

• Prepare a long-term program on asset criticality assessment and ensure asset management and maintenance programs are planning & executing required actions for the highly critical assets.

• Coordinate and provide support to maintenance, engineering and design, protection, and other teams in terms of asset management.

• Analyze maintenance and failure data to improve asset reliability and optimize preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.

• Liaise with maintenance to review, analyze and identify areas impacting network performance and reliability and implement improvement programs.

• Responsible to report on areas with identified potential hazards and risks to network operations and follow up with respective responsible entities to take necessary prompt actions.

• Contribute to the lifecycle management of transmission assets, from planning and procurement through to end-of-life decommissioning.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with ISO 55001 Asset Management standards.

• Participate in the annual asset management maturity assessments and support the implementation of recommended improvement initiatives.

• Prepare technical reports, investment justifications, and risk assessments to support asset-related decision-making.

• Monitor and analyze KPIs related to asset performance, maintenance effectiveness, and system reliability.

• Assist in the integration and operation of advanced Asset Management tools (e.g., IBM Maximo, IBM APM, GIS, etc.).

• Ensure compliance with national regulations, internal policies, and international best practices.

• Support audits, internal reviews, and external benchmarking activities.

• Engage with vendors, contractors, and consultants to support project delivery and technology updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).

• At least 10 years of relevant experience focusing on Asset Management, Maintenance & Reliability, System Design, Protection, CAPEX (greenfield & brownfield) planning, and other disciplines related to electrical power systems.

• Solid knowledge of high-voltage equipment (transformers, circuit breakers, protection systems, etc.).

• Practical understanding of ISO 55001 Asset Management Systems.

• Experience with reliability engineering concepts (RCM, FMEA, Failure Data Analysis).

• Experience with asset investment planning tools (e.g., IBM Maximo, SAP PM, Copperleaf) is an advantage.

• Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).

Preferred Certifications

• Certified Asset Management Assessor (CAMA) / IAM Certificate – optional but desirable.

• Certified Maintenance & Reliability Certification (CMRP) – advantage.

• ISO 55001 Lead Auditor Certification – advantage.
